Yerevan Vs Tbilisi*, What is the Best Caucasus City ?
Toilets with a Shower system in the South Caucasus Train.
Don't Travel in Armenia with a EVISA only, you must have a
National Passport if you want to avoid Questions at the Border or
Stay at the Border Railway Customs Office in Ayrum.
Today i will spoke about my Experience of my Recent Travels between Armenia and Georgia.
I Can tell you that there is some Differences between Georgia and Armenia.
1) Travelling by Train between Armenia and Georgia is Simple and inexpensive (around 10 000AMD per ticket: 24EUR) The customs control is done in the Train on the Armenia Side and in a Police Kiosk in the Georgia Side, this is a fast and easy Process from both sides, it takes around 30min to 1H in the Georgia Side, there is usually no questions at the Border, except if you try to Enter Armenia with the EVISA.
My Experience:
I Travel from Armenia to Georgia by Train without any issues, i Travel Back from Georgia to Armenia with issues In the Armenian side. Armenian Border Guards discovered that somebody Canceled my EVISA In Yerevan (but i got no stamp about this in my Passport) and i were in need to Use an European Passport instead to Enter Armenia. According to Point 5 of the Law on Foreigner a EVISA is enouth to enter Armenia, if the EVISA is Revoked there must be a Stamp in the Passport of the Traveller according to the same law.
I also do not recommand you at all to use the Antarctica Travel Document as in Armenia it is not recognized as a Valid Travel Document depsite you have a VISA or NOT.
Use only a National Passport to Enter Armenia.
Tbilissi Vs Yerevan:
The City of Tbilissi is a Better city to live from my Experience, the weather is Warm and The city is very active, also the tarifs for food, transport and accomodation are the same or cheaper than in Yerevan.
The Advantages for you if you decided to live in Tbilisi or Georgia as a European Passport Holder:
- 1 Year Visa Free in a Row, you can stay 1 year without the need to leave the Georgian Territory.
- Affordable accomodation around 250 to 350EUR to Rent an Appartment or stay at Hotel, that is cheaper than Yerevan.
- Food Tarifs are also comparable, Restaurant also comparable to Yerevan Prices or little higher.
- Yandex Taxi is also working in TBilisi and you can count around 0.40EUR per Km.
- Very Sunny City, almost all the time a Great Weather
- Very Friendly Business Environment, you can Setup a Micro Business like me for Free at Tax office and Pay 0% on turnover till 30 000GEL per Year (Around 10 000EUR), In Armenia Minimum Tax and Compulsory accounter will cost you 700EUR Per Year the Minimum), in Georgia it will cost you nothing, as you have only 1 Declaration each Year to do online, and accountant is not Compulsory for MB.
- Easier Banking and Generally less Taxes and Regulations for a Small Business, Almost all the Georgian Banks are open to European Passport Holders, you can get a Tax ID in 30min to 1H in any Tax Office, especially in Dighomi or DiDi Dighomi.
According to my Experience Tbilisi seems to be a more Valid City for long term Living.
Tbilisi could be rated 7,7/10 for long term living and Yerevan 6,7/10 for long term living.
